About thevisitor.org
thevisitor.org is a small independent game site built around The Visitor, Zeebarf's 2007 point-and-click horror, served from this domain and run through Ruffle. The site was rebuilt in September 2026 as a plain static site so it loads fast on any browser and depends on no database.
The rest of the site stays with browser horror: the Forgotten Hill series and its stand-alone Tales, hide-and-escape games, a haunted-mansion walk and a survivor-style shooter, plus a short lights-on shelf of puzzles and platformers as a palate cleanser. Each game has its own page with what it is, how it controls and what to expect.
How the games work
The Visitor is the original SWF served from this domain and played by Ruffle, an open-source Flash Player emulator that loads with the page. The other games are HTML5, Unity and WebGL builds embedded from the game host that serves our sites. Nothing installs and nothing loads until you press Play.
Who writes the content
The descriptions, control guides, tips and answers on this site are written by the people who run it, after playing the games. Where we describe a mechanic, it is because we have used it. If something we have written is wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it.
Ownership and rights
The Visitor is the work of Jay Ziebarth (Zeebarf); this site is a fan-run host and is not affiliated with or endorsed by him or by Newgrounds. The other games belong to their developers, credited on each page. All other games remain the property of their respective developers and publishers. If you own a game listed here and want it removed, get in touch and we will take it down.
